The project

This website is the result of a project undertaken by the EFBWW (the European Federation of Building and Woodworkers) with the financial support of the European Commission (DG EMPL).

Why this website?

Temporary migration and in particular posting of workers is of vital importance in the construction sector, since it has a highly mobile workforce, a high demand for skilled and unskilled workers and a strong competition between companies. However, the principle “the same wage for the same work at the same workplace” is not always respected.

This website will help workers to receive sector-specific, concise and easily accessible information about their rights. Workers will also be able to get in contact with Trade Unions in their country of origin or host country to receive direct support.

At European level, this initiative responds to Directive 2014/67/EC which points out the importance of improved access to and transparency on the terms and conditions of employment within the different EU Member States in order to ensure the right application of Directive 96/71/EC and thereby protecting the rights of posted workers.

All the information is available in all the official languages of the European Union.
