When the sickness allowance is 55% or 60%, an additional 5% is allocated if:

Work injuries/accidents

A serious or fatal accident must be communicated by the employer within 24 hours to the labour inspectorate (ACT: Autoridade para as condições do trabalho)

In construction, if the employer does not comply, the responsibility lies with the subcontractor within 24 hours and after that with the main contractor.
